The institute works on the revival of the Unani medicine which was handed to us as a valuable treasure of the ancient world. The following aims are pursued mainly:
Main focus of the institute is the scientific discussion with the bases and therapy forms of the Unani medicine. Clinical, theoretical and experimental research projects are an integral component of the work of the institute.
Seminars, courses and talks serve the principles of the Unani medicine to doctors to make it accessible to medical practice as well for use for “laymen”. For this own events are organised, as well as lecturers are offered for conferences and talks.
Translation of classical and modern readings into German to simplify the access to this science.
During the centuries different styles and lines of thought have arisen from the Unani-medicine which everybody owns her respective value. Nevertheless, as a standard work the „canon of the medicine“ written by Ibn Sina(Avicenna) is always stated among Unani doctors and scientists. This extensive reading is also a base of the principles and the research projects of the institute to guarantee an authentic background.
National and international cooperations with the organisations who promote the Unani medicine were attached and should be further developed.
